Topic: What causes students to cheat on the exams?
Nowadays, cheating is still one of the faults in school. The fact makes a lot of teachers have headache. But what causes students to cheat on the exams? Perhaps, the reasons leading cheating start from the benefits private of students and the ease of teachers.
First of all, students want to cheat because they want to have good marks. Although they do not have to spend too much time on studying the lessons, they still get the good marks. Taking advantages of whenever the teacher does not pay attention, the students will use any tricks of cheating such as: the documents that they prepared carefully at home, or the students who are too shameless are willing to open the books of the subject to write all things they need. Some students are hard working but in some cases they still cheat. For examples, they do not want to get bad mark because they do not know or are not ready to have a test that the teacher makes them surprise and at that time they did not learn by heart anything before, so they cheat. Often their marks are higher than the students who do not cheat and as high as the students who studied at home. Some students are very hard working in this subject, which relates to their major in the future, but they are not interested in that subject, so they think that cheating is necessary for getting a good mark. These things will be difficult to avoid if the students still want to have their own benefits.
Besides, the ease of teachers is also a reason of students’ cheating. They know their students cheating but they still let them cheat. In the exams, they do another things such as read newspapers, correcting the papers instead of paying attention to their students who are doing the test. And of course, the students will not lose the opportunity to cheat. Even a lot of teachers go out immediately when they write the questions of the test on the board or give the photo papers test to their students. Then a half of the time or after the bell finishing, they come back and collect the papers. The students really hardly get over the seduction of cheating. The teachers think that will make their students a chance to have the good results. In contrast, it is very harmful because it makes the students lazier and have no knowledge in the subject. It also contributes to the fault of the school because of the teachers who are too easy and gentle in the exams.
It can be said that there are not only the factor inside, which starts from the benefits private of students, but also the factor outside, which starts the ease of teachers, are the causes of cheating. Every students needs to know cheating is the bad behavior and be aware of studying and learning by heart are very important and useful for their future. That will help the school push the fault of cheating back far away.
